The Killing Ground Episode 1

Hay Guys! This is the first part of a story of an Assassin. The assassin is like Elmar’s, The Inferno, with each part of the story being a “episode” and once I’m done with season 1 i’ll put them into one large story with all the ‘episodes’ labelled, like chapters.

Must…kill…Jonathan Hitchcock! A voice screamed inside my head, “He will die at my hand and I won’t give a hoot!” The voice said.

“Yes, you won’t care. But we will not tolerate failure.” A man said above me.

 “Sir, he’s stirring,” James said.

WAIT! James? Then the memories flooded back. Just flashes though. Just flashes. Las Vegas. James smashing a whiskey bottle over my head. My lifeless body carried to a van. A hypothermic syringe stabbed into my arm. And black.

“Sir! He’s remembering!” An urgent voice sounded through the intercom, “In a moment it’ll be too powerful!”

“Give him another dose of reality!” the intercom said

“NO! He already has too much in his system!”

 “Do something, idiot!”

“NO! He’s waking! He has to wait three more days til’ the serum is ready! That serum will turn him into a killing machine at my command!” The man yelled.

Suddenly my eyes opened, and bright, harsh light cut into my eyes. I closed them but it did nothing against it.

Once my eyes got used to the light I got a look around. I was in a white, sterile room that was much to clean. There was a row of chairs, almost like Dentist chairs, except they had Sniper Rifles, pistoles, vests, knives, and many other weapons I couldn’t identify, in holsters and pouches on the sides of them. I noted a silenced pistole on my chair. I reached out to grab it, only to find my arm restrained. I grunted and pulled at them, but they didn’t yield. I started lifting my chest, but there was also a restraint. I started wriggling my arm out of the restraints. After a half-hour, my right arm was free. I reached over and pulled out the silenced pistole. Up till then, there had been quiet when the intercom spoke, “Get some guards in there or he’s going to kill the boss and James!”

Then I heard my voice, “Oh no. I won’t kill your boss. Just James, that son of a motherless goat.”

“Then it’s settled! I’ll let you go free, and you can kill James here!” The man said, who I assume was the boss.

“Hay! Wait a minute! Hold up, hold up! You’ll sacrifice me to save your butt?” James exclaimed.

“Why, yes! Why?” the boss said.

“You big son of a motherless goat, I hope you get killed by this man right here!!”

“Just let me go free, or I’ll kill you both!” I yelled, savagely.

“Yes, yes.” the boss muttered, “Gregor, release assassin 2196 from captivity.”

“Yes, sir,” Gregor said over the intercom.

I felt the restraints slid into my chair. I was free! I jumped up and saw a flurry of clothes. I aimed where I predicted James’s head would appear. I saw it and pulled the trigger. The gun made the slightest sound, yet the jolt was strong. I saw James’s head blow apart. I wondered over and glanced at his head. The top part of his head was gone like he’d been scalped except it mas more like a beheading, blood splattered the white walls and floor.

“Sorry about the mess,” I said apologetically, “I didn’t know how strong the bullet would hit him.”

“That’s ok. I’ll have my clean up team clean it up and disposes of the body.” the boss responded.

“Now what was this about assassinating Jonothan Hitchcock?”

“He’s been a nuisance, that’s why we brought you here. To program you to follow my orders.”

 “Why didn’t you just ask?”

the boss threw back his head and laughed.

 “Because you might have refused!”

“Well I might have said yes!”

“And you might not have!”

“Okay! Enough of this banter! I accept the challenge!”

the boss suddenly had a surprised look on his face

“You…willingly…want…to…assassinate…Jonathan Hitchcock?”

“Why not! How hard can it be?”

“Hard. Harder than you think.” the boss said, with the look of a man deciding what size coffin I would fit in.

The intercom crackled with laughter from Gregor.

“And that, my friends, is how you lose all your active assassins in one go!” Gregor said between giggles.
