Poems by Jane

man in white shirt writing on a paper

These are some poems that I have made. I’ll hopefully be adding more, so keep tuned in! Please comment on which one was your favorite and why!

Storm

The trees hung low like hunchbacked women

Their bark peeling in the blistering heat

Their carpet once green now a molted brown

The very air drips with perspiration

Yearning for relief

The trees like quarreling women, lash one another

Bark scrapes bark

The carpet once so dry ripples wetly

The air whipped by tears of joy

Drinking in relief

The trees, gay young women, their arms spread wide

Their dress a close-fitting brown

Their toes caress a rippling green carpet

The wind sighs and tickles their flyaway hair

Sleeping

My yipping pups

Leap and pounce

Among my skittering dreams

Girl

There, said the boy

Where her hair and flowers mingle

That girl with her wide red smile

She makes my nerves jingle

Crash

Screeching metal

Jagged glass

Bloody mess

At rest

Presentation

Heart pumping

Breath bating

Palms sweaty

Limbs quaking

Finished

Wind

As free as a bird on wing

My hair it teases

Upon my face it strokes

By man’s desires

Leashed

The Van

The rusted fender

The crumpled heart

Her final breath

She doth depart

Farewell

Spirit

Hear me for I am lonely

The thing within doth pine

Though many abound

The kindred spirit I have not found

Find me O kindred spirit

For lost I be

The thing within beats soft

Memory

As I trot the winding road of memory

There peeps a shining beaming face

Another of a gloomy gus

There the stooped shoulders of one oppressed

There in the winding road of memory

I stopped

Corona

To economy, disastrous

To lives, killers

To friendships, wreckers

Best ignored, no

Left to die out, not wise

Worldwide panic, true killers

Panic that leaves sick uncared for

Elderly abandoned

No, panic is not the answer

Humans

Humans Fallible and breakable

Molded out of clay

Shattering like glass

However clay can work another way

Shaped by the mighty maker

Loved despite the cracks

Growing through the hardships

To become a hardy vessel for Him who loves us

Fishing

Zing, plop

Everything else a backdrop

Dad and I, we glance at each other

We smile, nod, content together

A whisper of a tug

I give a yank, o yeah, I got something big

Sails

The ships sails flapping

The wind sends them snapping

Room

A child’s room, extreme

Mounds of toys, children rule supreme

Math

Numbers and letters, curling around like so many snakes

Twists and turns through dark tunnels of forgotten knowledge

Yet knowing just round the next bend the answer shall be revealed
