Fifty Years till Glory

The year was set

For when the king met

His world again

But not all saw the time, and we started to forget

However much we tried to tell

Of Wormwood, death, and keys to Hell

No-one wanted to see the reign

And we left the earth, watching the crumbling of our shell

But there are fifty years till glory

The ending of this ancient story

Even though goodness the world feigns

There are fifty years till glory

Past the time that we forgot

War and disease the world wrought

And now the thing filled with pain

The world will go away

For golden halls and golden walls

And golden faucets, tall

When the fire has started to rain

We will see the whole world fall

But there are fifty years till glory

The ending of this ancient story

Even though goodness the world feigns

There are fifty years till glory

And only few will enter the city

The place of an ancient mystery

Of where lies the end of pain

Because everything else is empty

But there are fifty years till glory

The ending of this ancient story

Even though goodness the world feigns

There are fifty years till glory

Amen
