Sorry guys if its to short, but hopefully it’s enough! Enjoy! 🙂
I walked carefully over the ice.
*CRACK*
My foot fell into the crack in the ice. I struggled to pull my leg out but nothing was helping.
‘HEEELLLLPPPP!!!!!!’ I screamed hoping someone would hear me.
Nothing.
The ice cracked and engulfed the rest of my body. I took one last breath of air as my head went under the ice. I kicked my feet in the water trying to swim. But I’d never learned to swim. My mind instantly flashed to a random memory of the last seal I killed and how before dying it had tried to pull me into the water. I panicked that time, this time I would master my fear. My hands gripped the ice but slipped within a few seconds. My determination to master my fear left me. ‘This is the end..’ I thought.
I sank down. down. down. All the air left my lungs and water slowly replaced it.
I felt a slow tug of the current pulling me along as I drifted off.
* * *
I jerked up, bumping my head on something hard. After rubbing my bruised head, I examined the room. It was small and had very little decor, the ceiling hung low, and there were three doors probably leading to more rooms. Looking up I realized there was a wood shelf above my head. Voices came through one of the doors, a few seconds later it opened slowly. A small man walked out holding what looked to be a small club.
“Who are you or what are you?” I asked.
“The boy acts as if he’s never seen a dwarf in his life.” He said to someone in the other room.
“Well I haven’t..” I said deciding it was better not to correct him on my gender.
“Hu… well were you from?” Said the so called ‘dwarf’.
“Canada.”
A gasp sounded from the other room. The ‘dwarf’ backed away slowly.
