It’s Christmas, I guess,
But the usual cheer
Is nowhere as warm or apparent this year.
I guess there are somethings we can do without,
Like fam’ly and friends and going about.
Like being with those that you’ve always knew,
Now connections with them are all but subdued.

It’s Christmas, I wager,
“Ho ho ho.”
Yeah… corona happened. Oh no.
I guess we’ll just binge on the Grinch and cocoa.
Maybe hang six feet apart with those that we know.
So this year happened, so did last year.
If Brits can do Brexit, then we can stay clear.
Or something like that. I’ll look up the meme
While I plop some marshmallows into chocolate ice-cream.

It’s Christmas, of course.
What all has changed?
A life without commercialism isn’t deranged!
This Yule, let us think about what it all REALLY commands!
(Just before you do, please wash your hands.)
